Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival via Kilimanjaro International Airport and Transfer to Arusha

Kilimanjaro International Airport is the pick-up point. Our guide waits for you to arrive by plane and immediately kicks of your 8 days Tanzania and Rwanda safari. This starts with a transfer to Arusha, just 60.1 km away. Step out of the car and check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Tarangire National Park

Wake up to very fresh breakfast before the day becomes busier. Check out and transfer 109 km to Tarangire National Park. Even before you arrive in the park, many wild animals start to watch you and your car. The Tarangire River, hundreds and hundreds of elephants and really huge baobab trees offer powerful views while on a game drive. Head to your camp in the Tarangire National Park wilderness and check in. Have your first dinner in the wilderness here before a goodnight’s sleep.

Day 3: Transfer to Serengeti National Park

Rejuvenate your body with some early morning breakfast at the camp. Transfer to Serengeti National Park, just 190 km from Tarangire. The journey promises views of wild animals, birds, landscapes, trees, shrubs, kopjes and others throughout. Also, lovely lunch is offered en route before check in at your camp. The camp serves you dinner before you get some rest for the night.

Day 4: Serengeti Game Drive and Maasai Village Visit

At sunrise, wake up for breakfast because you need your game drive as early as possible. This takes place in the central area of Serengeti National Park. All the Big 5 animal species make this game drive highly necessary. Watch plenty of antelope species try as hard as possible to evade the predators. Get some lunch and head to a Maasai village outside the park, mostly in Loliondo. These are very beautiful and highly welcoming people. Explore a Boma to see how the Maasai cook, interact, dress, speak and entertain. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Conservation Area Exploration

Ngorongoro Conservation Area is only 63.9 km from Serengeti, and we drive you to explore it. With picnic lunch, get lovely views of wild animals that live in the world’s largest caldera. Many animals, the Big 5 among them can be seen here. Cheetahs, jackals, serval cats, warthogs, elands, bushbucks and zebras reside here as well. Return to your camp in Serengeti for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Flight from Kilimanjaro Airport to Kigali, Rwanda

Today, you head to neighboring Rwanda in the west. So after check out, drive to Kilimanjaro International Airport with lunch offered along the 295 km scenic drive. Meanwhile, there is still plenty of wild animals to see while on your way out of this wildlife-rich region. Fly to Kigali in Rwanda later on. Arrive at your hotel in Kigali and check in for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: City Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

On this seventh day of the 8 days Tanzania and Rwanda safari, transfer to Volcanoes National Park. Before this 107 km scenic trip, enjoy a city tour either at Kimironko market, Inema Arts Center or Kigali Genocide Memorial. Amazing experiences involve the purchase of fruits, vegetables and others. The arts center presents numerous masterpieces to showcase drawing talent. The drawings reflect Rwandan or African ideas and lifestyles. An opportunity to draw for yourself is offered.

Meanwhile at the memorial center, remember the victims of the 1994 Rwandan genocide. Explore a site where emphasis is on reconciliation and peace-building. Delicious lunch is availed before you arrive in Volcanoes National Park. While at the gorilla destination, check in at your lodge and relax. Meanwhile enjoy a stroll around the premises before dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking and Return to Kigali. Departure.

On this final but special day of the 8 days Tanzania and Rwanda safari, wake up and head to the restaurant. Take breakfast before check out to arrive at the park headquarters earlier. Any tour that involves gorilla trekking starts at 8:00 a.m. But, a briefing session organized by the park authorities is very important for you to attend. After you have learnt about all the necessary tips for a great time tracking the gorillas, enter the forest.

Find the gorillas and watch them for an hour. Drive to Kigali afterwards, with delicious lunch offered en route. In Kigali, head to your hotel or the airport where your departure flight occurs. This marks the end of your 8 days Tanzania and Rwanda safari.
