Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi National Park
In the morning our guide picks you up from your hotel or airport in Entebbe. Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, situated in southwestern Uganda, and 527 km by road from Kampala. As implied, the journey is relatively long, hence take advantage of pauses for enroute lunch and scenic views at various points. The day’s highlight includes a stop at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe. Capture photos while you stand at either hemisphere. At your lodge, arrive and check in to relax in the evening. Then, enjoy dinner before the overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla Trek & Batwa Visit
Wake up in the early morning to ensure you finish your breakfast in time before a gorilla trek. Before 8:00 a.m. assemble at the trailhead with your packed lunch. This is important because you get clear instructions on how gorilla trekking is done successfully. Afterwards, a ranger guide takes you deeper into the forest to locate a habituated gorilla family. It is all smiles when you meet the gorilla family after you identify them along gorilla trails. For 1 hour, view them to learn how they eat, play, walk, and communicate etc.
Return towards the trailhead and attend a debrief. Get your gorilla trekking certificate and head to a Batwa community outside the forest. The village you visit is their new home after they dwelt in the forest for centuries. Nevertheless, they offer a wide range of experiences. One of them is entertainment through music, dance and story-telling. Another is demonstrations of strategies they utilized to thrive in the forest. This includes the use of bow and arrows to hunt, gathering of food and herbal medicine etc. Return for dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 3: Depart to Kampala/Entebbe. End of Tour
As soon as you get up from your comfortable bed, kindly get ready for breakfast. After that, check out and enter the car. Return to Kampala city, with very delicious lunch offered to you while on the long scenic drive. In Kampala, tell our driver exactly where to drop you off. Either at your hotel or at Entebbe International Airport, enjoy the final seconds of your trip. The 3 days gorilla tour in Bwindi National Park then comes to an end.
