A 12 days Uganda tour combines wild views, primate treks, cultural encounters and boat cruises among others. The 12 days Uganda tour presents gorilla trek, chimpanzee trek, game drives, boat cruises and cultural encounters in the country’s iconic destinations. Everything is customized to offer authentic experiences right from the start to the very end. As a matter of fact, start the tour from Entebbe and end it here as well. This is an experience you enjoy with our guide, fluent in English, Swahili and various local languages.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up & Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park and Ziwa Rhino Experience

Our guide meets you at your hotel in the morning. Immediately drive some 234 km to Murchison Falls National Park with some pauses. One is at Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch for rhino tracking. See the southern white rhinos in the wild before you enjoy lunch en route. Continue to the park, which by the way is in the northeast of Uganda where you check in at your lodge. After you relax, enjoy dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise

Before the sun rises, wake up and enjoy breakfast in the restaurant. A game drive at this time is a good idea since you spot warthogs, leopards, lions, elephants, hartebeests and giraffes etc. After dinner at your lodge, go for a boat cruise that takes you upstream of the Nile River. This is the chance of getting quite close to the Murchison Falls. Meanwhile Nile crocodiles, hippos, elephants and many other animals offer views. Dinner and overnight again at your lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Wake up at your lodge and feel very courageous to take your last breakfast in this park. Check out and drive out of Murchison Falls National Park. The journey takes you to Kibale National Park with enroute lunch. After 253 km of traveling between either park, arrive at the forest to check in. Have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trek and Bigodi Village Experience

Today you track and see chimpanzees in the morning. Make sure you take some breakfast though. At the visitor’s information center, register and attend briefing. Track and see a habituated chimpanzee community. Have lunch at the lodge and go for a unique exploration in Bigodi Village. Find both the Bakiga and Batooro who peacefully coexist adjacent to the forest.

Learn a lot about their way of life. Meanwhile they offer skills in handicraft making. So, learn some basic skills and ideas of how to make mats, baskets and other handcrafts from scratch. They also have an organized group of entertainers, who sing and dance traditionally. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & Afternoon Boat Cruise

Today, you transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most popular, and for good reason. A lot of outstanding views that include landscapes are available for you. Arrive and go for an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. On a motorboat, see Nile crocodiles, hippos, elephants and birds at the waterway. At your lodge there is dinner and overnight wait for you.

Day 6: Morning Game Drive. Transfer to Ishasha Sector

This is the 6th day of your 12 Days Uganda tour. Right after your breakfast, check out and drive to the Kasenyi Area. Animals already up and in desperate search for a meal include elephants, lions, Uganda kobs, leopards, and buffaloes. Thereafter, head to the Ishasha sector with some genuinely delicious lunch offered along the way there. Check in at your lodge in Ishasha, have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Bwindi

Check out after the excitingly great breakfast at your lodge. A game drive in Ishasha Sector is the only chance to see tree-climbing lions, especially at sunrise. Other key residents to spot include waterbucks, bushbucks, hippos, Uganda kobs, and buffaloes etc. The journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park starts afterwards. This is blessed with en route lunch while on the 60.3 km road that separates Ishasha from Buhoma. Check in at the lodge and have dinner before the highly needed rest overnight.  

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Community Visit

It is the 8th day of your 12 days Uganda tour, and adventures have gotten even more exciting. Pack lunch after your early morning breakfast. Head to the trailhead for full briefing. Search for a habituated gorilla family in the forest. One hour is to view the gorillas after you find them. Afterwards, meet a Batwa community just outside the forest. Experiences here include traditional music, dance, stories, new language and way of life. Drive for inner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and Boat Cruise

After your leisurely breakfast, drive to Lake Bunyonyi, known locally as a “Place of many little birds.” Only 139 km separates Bwindi and Lake Bunyonyi by road. Plenty of beautiful scenes and birds are presented for your enjoyment besides the en route lunch.  Arrive and check in at your lodge. Head to the lake shores to start a boat cruise. Explore the birds, islands, surrounding landscapes and villages around you. Have dinner and overnight at your cool lodge by the lake.

Day 10: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Wake up on this 10th day of your 12 days Uganda tour. Patiently take your breakfast and then make an effort to check out. In a few seconds start a northeast scenic drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Driving there covers 205 km, but it is a very scenic one with views of the breathtaking rangelands, woodlands, forest. See how the countryside atmosphere distinguishes itself from the urban’s.

Day 11: Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise

Early in the morning, get breakfast before you embark on a game drive across the park. To name but a few, see Uganda kobs, giraffes, impalas, hippos, egrets, papyrus gonoleks, and zebras etc. Delicious lunch is available at your lodge after noontime. Drive to Lake Mburo and do a boat cruise. Obvious animals to see include hippos and crocodiles. Get back to your lodge where dinner is served before your overnight stay.

Day 12: Return to Kampala. End of Safari

This is the final day of your 12 days Uganda tour. So, take breakfast and travel for 230 km to Kampala. Lunch is along the way before drop off. If aiming for your departure out of Uganda, drop off is made at Entebbe International Airport for the flight. End your tour here
